Why your logo isn’t your brand

A logo is a signal. A brand is the experience.

Your logo helps someone recognize your business. Your brand also includes your positioning, language, visual system and the experience people have when they interact with you. A memorable symbol cannot compensate for an unclear promise.

Build the system around the symbol

Define who you serve and what you want to be known for. Then connect your typography, colors, imagery and tone to that direction. Test the system in everyday situations: a sales deck, a product label, a social post and your homepage.

Make consistency practical

A useful brand guide shows how to make decisions, not just which logo file to use. Include examples, clear rules and templates for recurring work. Revisit the system when your business changes, while preserving the cues your audience already recognizes.
